These tasty beans are commonly used in Mexican dishes and make up the base of re-fried beans. They have a distinctive flavour and can be mixed with a selection of other beans to create delicious meals or simply add to soups for extra texture and nutrients. To cook, it’s recommended that you soak them for around 8 – 12 hours (overnight) and cook in boiling water for around 80 minutes. You can then add them into your favourite dish or let them go cold and toss them into salad.
