Big Blue Ocean Cleanup

We are proud to be an official member of the Ocean Protection Project by the Big Blue Ocean Cleanup, one of the world’s leading nonprofits tackling marine pollution. Did you know that 8 million metric tons of plastic is dumped into oceans each year? The Big Blue Ocean Cleanup run international coastal cleaning, education programs, technology development and more, to help save wildlife and their endangered habitats.

SESI

A family-run social enterprise based in Oxfordshire, SESI supply packaging-free sustainable vegan detergents to cooperatives, charities and zero waste ventures. Founders Paul and Rina spent 14 years campaigning and perfecting their scientifically formulated laundry liquids, soaps and cleaning products, all gentle to both people and the planet. We’re so happy to have them on board.

Seed & Bean

We are delighted to announce that Roots & Hoots is the first retailer of packaging-free Seed & Bean chocolate! We put our heads together with the award-winning chocolatiers to come up with a way to provide their products packaging free, that retains complete freshness. Accredited as one of the most ethical chocolate producers in Britain, Seed & Bean use 100% organic Fairtrade ingredients, small-scale local suppliers, and make their goods by hand in the UK.

Faith In Nature

Beloved UK brand Faith In Nature have been making waves in the beauty industry since their launch 45 years ago, with a rich history of producing natural toiletries and cosmetics. Using only natural ingredients and avoiding synthetic colouring, fragrances and genetically modified ingredients, founder Rivka Rose made it her mission to embrace practices that follow the natural rules of Mother Earth. It goes without saying that their products are vegan and cruelty free, as with all the products we stock.

James White

At Roots & Hoots we’re excited to launch a zero-waste partnership with James White for their fresh juices, all ethically and sustainably made in the UK using their own fruit and vegetable farms. Following our closed-loop process with reusable plastic-free-packaging, we will collect your empty James White glass bottles, sanitise them and put them to reuse.

Old Tree Brewery

We’re thrilled to retail Sussex social enterprise Old Tree Brewery’s popular small-batch kombuchas in our zero-waste closed loop system. At Old Tree having a net positive impact on the environment and local community is at the heart of everything they do. Profits go towards regenerating soil, connecting people to nature with forest farming, supporting emerging networks for regenerative agriculture, and community led composting and foraging ventures.

Lucky Cat

Local independent Brighton brand with a cult following, Lucky Cat made it their mission to bring fudges to the market that tasted rich and delicious, but didn’t contain any animal ingredients or refined sugar. Let us be the ones to tell you they have wholeheartedly succeeded in this mission! They are also adamantly against plastic packaging, a cause close to our own hearts. Yarra

A small independent business specialising in ethical beauty products, Yarra use 100% natural and sustainably sourced ingredients giving you the cleanest, freshest and all around detoxifying experience. We are delighted to sell their bestselling bath salt varieties completely packaging free, using our closed loop returnable glass jars. Yarra are based close to us in Brighton which keeps the carbon footprint low and environmentally friendly.
